Paso Plumbing is a locally owned plumbing company working out of 617 S Virginia St in El Paso, Texas. We run drain machines, pull water heaters and chase slab leaks all over the Sun City – Westside, Central, the Eastside, Far East, Northeast, Horizon City and Socorro. We are not a data company, and this page is not here to trick you. It explains, in plain English, what information we end up with when you call us or use pasoplumbing.com, what we do with it, and what we will never do with it.
The short version
We collect the things a plumber needs to get to your house and fix your problem: your name, your phone number, the address of the job and a description of what is going on. We use it to do the work, to bill you and to follow up. We do not sell it, we do not rent it, and we do not hand your phone number to marketing lists. That is the whole idea. The rest of this page is the detail.
Information you give us directly
When you call, text, email or fill out a form on this website, you usually give us some or all of the following: your first and last name, your phone number, your email address, the service address (and sometimes gate codes or instructions for the dogs), and a description of the plumbing problem. If we do work for you, our records will also include what we did, what parts we installed, the date, the price, and any warranty on the repair. If you pay by card, that payment is handled by our payment processor – we see the receipt and the last few digits, not your full card number, and we do not store card numbers on this website.
Please do not send us Social Security numbers, bank login details or photos of your ID. We never need them for a plumbing job, and if someone contacts you claiming to be Paso Plumbing and asks for them, it is not us.
Information the website collects on its own
Like nearly every website, ours sits on a web server that keeps routine logs: the IP address of the visitor, the browser and device type, the pages that were opened, the time, and the page that referred you. Those logs help us keep the site online, spot attacks and understand whether the site is actually working on a phone at 2 a.m., which is when a lot of our visitors show up. We may also use standard website analytics (for example Google Analytics) to count visits, see which pages people read and understand roughly which part of the city our traffic comes from. Analytics tells us that forty people looked at the water heater page last week. It does not tell us who they are, and we do not try to work that out.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Ours are used to keep the site working properly and, where analytics is enabled, to tell a returning visitor from a new one. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work – the phone number at the top of every page does not need a cookie to ring our phone.
Phone calls, texts and voicemail
We answer calls around the clock, so we keep a record of calls and voicemails to our business line at (915) 200-8525, including your number, the time and any message you leave. If you text us or ask us to text you, we will use your number to send job-related messages: confirming an appointment, telling you the tech is on the way, sending a quote or a follow-up on a repair. Standard message and data rates from your carrier apply. If you would rather we stopped texting, reply STOP or just tell whoever you are talking to, and we will stop.
How we use your information
We use it to schedule and perform the work, to find your house, to give you a price, to order the right parts, to invoice you and take payment, to honor a warranty later, to answer questions about a job we already did, to keep the records Texas law and our insurance require, and to ask how we did. Once in a while we may contact an existing customer about something genuinely useful – a seasonal reminder before a freeze, or a heads-up that the water heater we installed is coming up on its warranty date. You can tell us to stop and we will.
Who we share information with
We share the minimum necessary with the companies that help us run the business: our web host, our phone and texting provider, our scheduling and invoicing software, our payment processor, our accountant, and website analytics. If a job needs a permit or an inspection, the relevant information goes to the City of El Paso or El Paso Water, because that is how a permit works. If we bring in a licensed subcontractor for part of a job, they get what they need to do that part and nothing else. We will also disclose information if the law requires it – a court order, a subpoena, an insurance claim or a genuine safety emergency.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade your phone number, email or address to lead sellers, home warranty companies, remodelers, solar companies or anybody else who might like to call you. We do not use the photos we take on a job for advertising with your address attached unless you tell us it is fine.
How long we keep it
Job records, invoices and warranty information are kept as long as we need them for tax, insurance and warranty purposes – generally several years, because a customer calling about a heater we installed four years ago is a normal Tuesday for us. Website logs and analytics are kept for a much shorter period. If you ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep, we will.
Keeping it secure
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to our customer records is limited to the people who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfect, and we are a plumbing company rather than a bank, so we deliberately keep as little sensitive information as we can. If something ever went wrong with data we hold, we would tell the affected customers.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete what we are not required to keep, and tell us to stop contacting you for anything other than a job in progress. Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and if you live somewhere with broader rules we will apply those in good faith too. Call (915) 200-8525 or email us and say what you want โ you will not have to fill out a portal or argue with a robot. We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before handing over records about an address.
Children
This site is meant for adults hiring a plumber. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child sent us something, call us and we will delete it.
Other websites and reviews
Our site links out to places like Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. Once you click through, you are on their turf and their privacy policies apply, not ours. If you leave us a review on Google, that review is public and controlled by you and Google – we can reply to it, but we cannot edit or remove it. We are grateful for the good ones and we would rather hear about a bad experience directly, at the number below, while we can still fix it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information โ a new booking system, a new analytics tool – we will update this page and change the date at the top. Nothing here changes the terms of a specific written estimate, invoice or warranty we have given you.
